Service was great and breakfast food I had was among the best I've ever tasted.

Ah! What a lovely find as I'm heading into the redwoods. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. We were a bit hungry coming into the place and we didn't know what to expect, but we needn't have worried at all. The place serves up very much standard American breakfast fare as well as a few other interesting bits. All the ingredients on the menu and what came out on our plates were and seemed very much fresh and juicy and delicious. The coffee never stopped coming and we were filled to the brim with excellent food and happiness as we left. Overall I do recommend this as an excellent place especially if you love breakfast. Stop on by if you are around in the redwoods. Totally recommend.

Had to add the pancake!Yea its historic, it looks just like when Elvis stopped in to get a 6 egg Omlette, that's it he ever stopped in. Great place to stop before or after a day hiking in the redwoods. They get 4 stars for serving me unsweet dark brewed tea in a pitcher. Had a half sandwich half salad. Not panera but the closet thing for miles around. They have big honey buns if your into that.

Great ambiance, wonderful service, huge portions, and they have clam chowder on Fridays! Really enjoyed this place a lot.

Wonderful local-diner atmosphere in the middle of a gorgeous forest, and a breakfast that can't be beat...scrambled eggs fluffy and light, bacon thick and crispy but not hard, delicious hash browns!

Great diner with outdoor seatings, only a mile away from the visitor center. I had a western burger which was very delicious. My wife had a bowl of chili and toast. My daughters had a chilli burger and a pancake. The pancake was 16 inch and it's the largest we have ever seen. All the food was very good and very generous portion. The price was very reasonable too. The staffs were very friendly. It's highly recommend.

The food and the staff are absolutely fantastic

This cafe is great. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. They had the best hash browns I have ever had. I let the waitress know how much I liked the food and the cook came out so he could tell me how he makes the hash browns. Very tasty.

Was having a bad day. Had just totaled my vintage trailer. The next morning while we were cleaning out our trailer, the manager brought us hot coffee to warm us up. We later ate breakfast which was awesome. Everyone at the cafe and motel was awesome and made a bad day a little better. Thank you everyone. Anytime we are near that is where we will go for great food and be around people who make you feel they care about others. It's a breath of fresh air.

Visited on a trip to the coast. Daughter, 2 teen grandsons and I walked over from the Haiouchi Motel for breakfast and they did NOT disappoint. The food was delicious, the portions HUGE, the waitstaff personable and efficient. The boys were disappointed we arrived too late for lunch yesterday! We WILL be back.

Best food! Nicest people. Great atmosphere and view of beautiful mountains. No matter what you order its delicious and you get a lot! Love this place!

Travel the Redwoods often. Love to eat at the Cafe. Great service and the breakfast is best in the area. Highly Recommend.

this is a super conservative town. nothing wrong just a warning, i felt like i didn’t belong. two of our omelettes weren’t right. one of them wasn’t even the correct kind. french toast has a chili aftertaste.

Awesome food and giant pizza size pancakes. Service was slower but it was super busy and the food made up for it.

Food was fantastic, as well as the service. The only two drawbacks, the coffee was awful and it's a little spendy. Our total was around $50.00 for two people including the tip.

Really good place to stop for a big breakfast. Sunday special is Egg Benedict and it's one of our new favorites. They have a full range of dinner breakfast choices. We ordered a "baby" size pancake and it's a big as a dinner plate. The full platter size pan cake is gigantic, so bring your appetite. Worth a stop for some food. Staff is friendly.

Food, plentiful and tasty. Atmosphere, nope. But the food is what got me there and I look forward to going back.

Even while remodeling and expanding, these folks serve a mean breakfast with fast, friendly service. Simple and hearty, generous servings, right on the highway... Worth stopping here instead of going to the larger towns. 👍👍👍

A MUST if you are traveling through the redwoods! The burgers are huge and some of the best I’ve ever eaten with incredible fries and onion rings! The waitresses were also outstanding and extremely friendly. The place has a very homey feel to it and is an excellent little stop if you’ve been camping for awhile. Highly recommend!

Food and service was awesome

Not a mask in sight... I was the only one wearing a mask in the entire establishment. This made me a little bit uncomfortable. Sign on the door saying that they have provided a mask to all their staff, but respect their privacy if they have a health condition that prevents them from being able to wear a mask. Not a single member of their staff was wearing one... not even the guy in the back flipping burgers. I understand the right to not wear a mask, but come on. By wearing a mask, best case you save lives, worst case, you’re a little uncomfortable. Worth it in my opinion.

The meals and service were above my expectations. We truly liked the vibes of this restaurant. Extraordinary spot to take the family out for lunch.

Good food and large portions, a bit overpriced.

Great little diner that we stopped by on our way to Crescent City from Eugene, Oregon. The bacon was thick cut, the eggs were perfectly cooked over easy, the pancakes were fluffy, and the hash browns were not greasy at all. If you are passing through the area, you should definitely stop by and check them out. They serve breakfast all day.

Side of the road breakfast dinner. Homemade, quality food, and the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! Pleasant experience, apart from the lipstick on the coffee mug.

Good thing I didn't go by some of the reviews! A place you don't want to pass on! Great comfort food and fantastic breakfast. Good sized portions. Didn't try the coffee. Service was a bit slow, but they were packed! Prices were NOT spendy like some reviews implied. Breakfast on average was about $10 a person. McDonald's breakfast anymore is about $6, and this was home cookin.

Went here 2 mornings in a row for breakfast before going out to the redwoods. Service was great, our waitress was super friendly. The food was also really good. First morning I had chicken and waffles, which apparently doesn't get ordered much, and the amount of food that is served is great. I would totally recommend this place to anybody that is checking out the redwoods nearby.

Hiouchi Cafe is an amazing experience with excellent food, great service, and beautiful redwood scenery. Friendly, warm and comfortable cafe with an amazing menu variety! Thank you for the great meals and hospitality!!! I will certainly return soon!

Best patty melt ever had

It has been freshly remodeled nice and Clean. The prices are very high for breakfast so we did not eat the coffee was very bitter. Not too happy with that cafe

Great breakfast (5stars as far as the food ). Seated promptly. Nice wait staff. Waited well over an hr after ordering to get our food. Wasn’t that busy. I would have left due to wait if not so hungry and really no other options in the area. Order was wrong when it came out too. No offer to fix it. We decided just to eat it and not complain because we didn’t want to wait any longer. They took 10% off for wait which combined w good food is why this isn’t a one star.
